WHEN WILL TRUTH AND JUSTICE PREVAIL IN SOUTH CAROLINA

When will Truth and Justice replace "The Big Lie" and Anti-semitism in South Carolina.   

The KKK is ready to March in South Carolina in July against Jewish citizens. 

The Director of the Department of Social Services was tagged as a "Gay Atheist" although she personally told me during an interview that she is heterosexual and that she has belonged to a Columbia SC Synagogue. Her family largely perished at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

In a news article "Nikki Haley's 'Gay' Cabinet?" FITSNews published 12/21/2011."According to a State Senator who spoke with FITS on condition of anonymity, there is a “practicing homosexual atheist” in Haley’s cabinet. I have been involved in private investigations in South Carolina since 1973. I hold SLED license number 30. I have been involved in politics both on the Republican and Democratic sides since 1974 as a candidate and as an investigator. I have conducted investigations of political campaigns both local, statewide, and national. I have many close friends on both sides of the aisle in the legislature and throughout the state.

As a Jewish person who has been a moving force in finding common ground for all religions in South Carolina, I have been angered by the way DSS Director Lillian Koller has been portrayed, particularly concerning her sexuality, her religion, and questions as to whether her family was murdered in the Holocaust.

I have launched my own investigation into where this misinformation originated. If the reporting is correct a South Carolina Senator started spreading these misrepresentations of the facts. 

These accusations have led to a firestorm of charges, and character defamation reminiscent of the Nazis' condemnation of the Jews during the 1930's and 1940's and Senator McCarthy's use of , demagogic, reckless, and unsubstantiated accusations and public attacks on the character or patriotism of political opponents. 

I have personally interviewed Director Koller and she has stated unequivocally that she is heterosexual and is Jewish,

and that most of her family perished in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

She has been a paying member of the Tree of Life Synagogue since her arrival in South Carolina. Her daughter is active in the synagogue's youth groups.

Rabbi Sherman of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Columbia has confirmed “ that Lillian Koller and her family are members of our congregation and have been since their arrival here in Columbia. We are very happy to have them as a part of our Temple family.”

Following this open letter are some facts:

1. Director Koller's biography that appears at the end of her manuscript “Pieces”. She discusses her family Jewish history, her accomplishments as Human Services Director of the state of Hawaii.
2. Evidence of the great strides DSS has taken since her arrival in South Carolina.
3. A copy of a Jan/Feb 2007 Alzheimer’s Association article the Director wrote that further verifies the Director's families Holocaust experiences.

This is South Carolina in 2014, not Nazi Germany in the 30's and 40's. As a Jewish citizen of South Carolina, I will NOT stand idly by and listen to unfounded accusations.
