I have been working on interfaith and racial harmony concerns since 1988. My unpaid public service efforts go back to my time at the University of South Carolina in 1968. My goal has always been to bring equity and equality, to level the playing field for all faiths and shades of humanity. Recently I have developed the Global Partnership for the Advancement of Racial and Social Justice with my partners Hershel Daniels of the Friends of the African Union based in Ohio, Dr. Kofi Agyapong and Carolyn Kennedy of the Sons and Daughters of Africa, and the African Diaspora Directorate of D.C. I am also a voting member of the Tuskegee-based World Conference of Mayors. We are concentrating on bringing the NCRC JUST ECONOMY to Charleston first and then to all 435 Congressional Districts.
I was the organizer of the Charleston Congress of Religions with the late Police Chief Reuben Greenberg, the late Catholic Bishop Thompson, Episcopal Bishop Salmon, Hassidic Rabbi Doron Aizenman, and a host of other clergy encompassing a large number of other faiths. After 9/11 I helped organize the interfaith Partners of South Carolina with Governor Nikki Haley, her Dad, her Mother, and the University of South Carolina.
At 73 my time is limited to complete my task. I intend to leave this place kicking and screaming. To do this I have decided to use the 2024 election arena as a platform to voice my concerns in a race for the First Congressional District of South Carolina as a Democrat.
I intend to focus and bring attention to the Black Folks Plan of my partner organization the Friends of the African Union in association with Sons and Daughters of Africa and the African Diaspora Directorate. I also intend to focus my attention on the following:

BLACK PRISON POPULATION Howard Comen - 60% of inmates in prison in South Carolina are black. These are national problems no one seems to give a damn. Also, 50% of police killings are of mentally challenged citizens.
