Ships of state challenge fate when the weight shifts from hate
Between port and starboard, left and right and wrong and right
If the left side, because of pride, shifts to the left
Leaving the right side high and dry the left will sink into the drink
Carrying all sides into the deep for the big sleep
For a ship of state to stay upright the Left and Right must not fight
to the death for compromise is best to balance right and left
The ship can’t be painted all white as God doesn’t see things in black and white
He sees Humanity as one race but different shades for life to be free equally
The only way for humanity to achieve equality is to achieve equity
The poor whose family was educated unequally has no chance to rise from poverty
Affirmative Action moves the poor up several fractions unless evil factions
keep the young looking ahead behind a fence where they can’t see what is said
To nurture the future by leveling the view by standing on a pew to see the playing field
All can succeed if we eliminate the greed that breeds in the excrement between
