WE ARE AT WAR AND THE ENEMY IS US

Our Communities, civilian, educational, and law enforcement, can no longer be reactionary to personal security. We must be proactive, prepared to handler any personal security threat. We must adopt a personal security posture similar to the Israeli society.

According to a piece in the NY Times Opinion Pages from Oct 2, 2015
In a  13 year study analysts found that while the average number of annual shooting sprees with multiple casualties was 6.4 a year from 2000 to 2006, that number jumped to 16.4 a year from 2007 to 2013. The study found that many of the gunmen had studied previous high-profile shootings and were attracted to the attention that mass killers received when they staged lethal attacks.”

Terrorism is not defined by race, religion, or national origin. Just look at the terrorist actions in Boston, Charleston, London, Paris, New York, Birmingham Alabama in 1963. It is defined by an internalized hatred manifested from within in self aggrandizement through attaining Infamy on the way to death. These feelings are fueled by internet conversations and marketed as effectively as McDonald’s, Pharmaceuticals, Johnson and Johnson, or Volkswagen.

All societies that reach supremacy in the history of mankind are destroyed from within. We practice tunnel vision in this country where we can not see the forest for the trees.

Several years ago my associate, Ilan Hendelman came to Charleston and met with a number of law enforcement agencies. We urged local law enforcement to let us help develop a proactive posture for our communities. No one responded.

I would urge everyone to view Ilan's local CBS affiliate interview on the need to be proactive.
